Southern Florida FM signals were heard in Northern Virginia on Memorial Day 2014. The skip started at 4:14 p.m. with 88.1 WAYF booming in. WAYF was so strong (with no fading) that I mistaken it for nearby religious-formatted 88.1 WPRZ at 43 miles away — until I heard local ads for Brevard County, FL. Signals during the opening, save for WAYF, were weak and short-lived with deep fades. The opening dropped out of FM at 4:29 p.m., or 15 minutes, before briefly rising to the opening’s MUF of 92.9 FM for an additional minute at 4:45 p.m.
