The first FM Es for 2014 was received in Northern Virginia right on time on May 11. I heard skip in the lower FM band at 5:12 p.m. while driving in Stafford, VA (16 miles away from my home). Concurrently, unattended recordings at my home while on 92.9 FM picked up skip from 4:38 p.m. to 5:34 p.m. Overall, signals were strong but brief with rapid fade-outs. MUF for the opening was 96.7 FM.
Interestingly, my home radio only picked up 92.9 KVRE from Arkansas, while in the car on 92.9 16 miles away yielded other stations from the lower midwest coming in at the same time.
